The Benicassim Festival returns in 2010. Benicassim organisers have confirmed that benicassim festival 2010 takes place between 15th July 2010 to 19th July 2010. The FIB festival as it is also known will again take place in the town of benicassim on the east coast of spain between Barcelona and Valencia.
The festival site will again be Recinto De Conciertos.
Benicassim enters its third day tonight but day 2 was cacelled due to bad weather. Kings Of Leon and Maximo Park were forced to not perfrom last night ( friday July 17th 2009) due to bad weather.
Benicassim organisers pulled both the main acts as they said the weather was too bad for it to carry on.
The decision caused a lot of angry fans to boo as they left the building.
It is hoped that the King of Leon headline show can be performed tonight ( July 18th 2009) together with Maximo Park.
The day had already had dramas with a fire near the festival site, the show continued during this with Paul Weller performing on the Escenario Verde stage with no interruptions.

To start, you’re going need a good bag or rucksack that won’t fall apart the first time you throw it to the ground. Whatever you bring along, you’ll have to carry it with you, so bear that in mind. Therefore, eight pairs of heels are not going to be necessary, unless you’re Kate Moss. Line your bag with black sacks to add some extra defence from rain and water, as you don’t want to wake up in the morning having to put on wet clothes. Not a pleasurable experience.
Ensure you have a fully working tent and have checked everything before you leave. Try putting it up in the garden so you know what you’re doing and that all the parts are there. There’s nothing worse than turning up with a tent you’ve borrowed and finding you’ve got no ground sheet or a broken zip. Take plenty of pegs as you can never have enough and ensure you pick your pitch site carefully.
This is not a fashion parade, so don’t pack anything you wouldn’t want to get ruined and, while fancy dress might seem like a good idea, the novelty soon wears off. Bring clothes that are comfortable, warm, lightweight and ideally have lots of pockets for phones, camera’s, tobacco, etc. Bring wellies if you can carry them or alternatively bring old trainers. Flip flops are lightweight and easily tucked away, but are only useful if the weather is good. Bring more socks than you think you need to keep your feet dry. A single lightweight waterproof is a good idea as it will keep you dry, but will allow your body to breathe. A warm jumper will be needed at night and can also be used as a makeshift pillow. Bring a hat of some sort along to keep off the sun or the rain.
The Killers have been added to the Benicassim 2009 Line up. The benicassim Festival also known as FIB Heineken 2009. Las Vegas finest rock bank will close the festival on Sunday, July 19 2009.
The Mr Brightside act will close a fantastic looking Benicassim Line up, The first day Thursday 16th 2009 is headlined by Oasis, Kings of Leon play the Friday July 17th 2009, Franz Ferdinand head up the Saturday night on July 18th 2009 before the killers rap up the event on the Sunday.
The Killers have sold 12 million records and join what is a stellar line up in the sun of spain.

British Legends Oasis have being officially confirmed to play the Benicàssim festival 2009. They have been strongly rumoured to be playing, and have even announced it on their own website, but today FIB Heineken ( benicassim festival) organisers confirmed the worst kept secret that the Manchester band will be playing the festival.
The 4 day festival takes place 16th – 19th July 2009, the manchester band lead by the gallagher brothers Noel and Liam, will almost certaintly headline one of the days. The actual day has not yet being confirmed.
Oasis join a line up which includes Kings of Leon, Franz Ferdinand and Paul Weller. The line up is already looking like one of the best ever with a promise of more big names to be added in the next few weeks.

Oasis Tickets went on Sale yesterday for their Summer 2009 Outdoor Concert Tour in the UK. Oasis are expected to be playing the Benicassim Festival in July but you can get tickets to see Oasis at wembley stadium now as part of their UK Tour.
The Benicassim Festival takes place on the weekend of 16-19 July 2009 in Spain. The Oasis Summer Tour starts in the UK on 6th June 2009 with a home town gig in Heaton Park Manchester and ends on 12th July 2009 at Wembley Stadium. Oasis are also playing a full european tour
OASIS HEATON PARK CONCERTS BOTH SOLD OUT: THIRD NIGHT ADDED!
Both Oasis concerts at Manchester’s Heaton Park in June have sold out this morning in under two hours and due to the phenomenal demand the band have announced a third night’s performance in one of Europe’s biggest municipal parks. Oasis will now also be playing Heaton Park, Manchester on Thursday the 4th June, 2009 once again with very special guests Kasabian and The Enemy.
Tickets for all other stadium shows are selling fast and fans are urged to book quickly to avoid disappointment.
OASIS will undertake their biggest ever tour of open air venues in the UK and Ireland next summer. It includes two dates at the iconic new Wembley Stadium as well as the promised homecoming shows over two nights in Manchester’s Heaton Park. The tour will also see the band’s first ever visit to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.
Oasis will be joined on all the UK dates by special guests Kasabian and The Enemy.
These will be the band’s first shows at the new Wembley Stadium, having filmed their acclaimed live DVD ‘Familiar to Millions’ at the old venue in 2000. The Manchester dates at Heaton Park coincide with the centenary of the first music event in the park, when a gramophone recording of the Italian opera singer Enrico Caruso attracted 40,000 to the beautiful Manchester City Council owned family park. More recently in 1991, Electronic, The Buzzcocks and Happy Mondays (amongst others) played a two day concert to honour the legendary Factory Records produce Martin Hannett who had died earlier that year. Although this is the first headline appearance at the legendary Slane Castle, Oasis did perform there in 1995 as guests of REM.
The band are presently on a sold out tour of the UK, (which includes two nights at Wembley Arena) which saw all 180,000 tickets sell out as quickly as phone lines and internet sites could process applications.
The organisers for the Benicassim Festival have confirmed that FIB Heineken 2009 will be taking place on July 16, 17, 18 and 19, 2009, at the usual concert venue in Benicassim (Castellón).

What is Benicassim Festival like?
Benicassim is situated between Barcelona and Valencia. The Festival runs for 8 days ( well the camp site opens 3 days before the event starts) and plays host to over 100 bands, and ends with a massive free beach party. The sleep town of Benicassim has welcomed some of the world greatest artists including last year the Pixies, The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand and Depeche Mode and Morrissey. The appeal to UK festival goers is the guaranteed sunshine although they may be praying to be in the more mild climate of Mr Eavis, cow field while they melt in the Spanish sun!! That said you can always find a quiet shady spot for a siesta or cool down in the Mediterranean sea. The music does not actually start till late afternoon tand goes on through the night till around 8am in the morning, the headliners go on stage around 2am.
