Benicassim 2019 lineup

Headliners & big moments in 2019
The 25th anniversary edition felt like a celebration of everything FIB is known for. Fatboy Slim turned the opening night into a huge dance party, Lana Del Rey brought a dreamlike, cinematic headline set on the Friday, and Kings of Leon delivered a classic guitar-heavy Saturday highlight. On Sunday, Spanish favourites Vetusta Morla performed a special anniversary show, with Franz Ferdinand and George Ezra helping to close the weekend in style.
Across the site, reviews described a friendly, mixed crowd: sunburnt Brits, Spanish fans celebrating their homegrown bands, and travellers from all over Europe. Late-night DJ sets kept the arena busy until well past 4am, especially on the South Beach and dance stages.

Earlier in the evening, Action Bronson delivered heavyweight hip-hop, Marina provided big pop choruses, and Fontaines D.C. impressed as one of the breakout guitar bands of the summer.

Friday mixed pop, indie and rap. The 1975 brought slick production, neon staging and a set stacked with festival anthems. Lana Del Rey, in one of her only Spanish appearances that year, delivered a slow-burning, emotional headline performance that suited the warm night perfectly. Gerry Cinnamon drew one of the loudest sing-alongs outside the main headliners, while LA M.O.D.A. and Belako represented the Spanish scene with huge support.

The closing day felt like a nod to the festival’s roots and its future. Spanish heroes Vetusta Morla played a special show to mark FIB’s 25 years, revisiting material from Un Día En El Mundo alongside newer songs. Franz Ferdinand and George Ezra both delivered big, feel-good sets, while Ezra Furman and Black Lips brought a more alternative edge. Late into the night, Hot Dub Time Machine and DJ Seinfeld kept the anniversary party going.
What Benicassim 2019 felt like
People who were there often describe 2019 as “classic FIB with a modern twist”. Daytimes were scorching, with many fans spending hours on the beach before heading into the arena at sunset. The evenings brought a mix of nostalgia – Kings of Leon’s early-2000s anthems, Fatboy Slim’s big-beat throwbacks – and newer sounds from artists like Fontaines D.C., AJ Tracey and Superorganism.
The anniversary branding was visible around the site, and Spanish acts had a strong presence, from Vetusta Morla to Carolina Durante and Cariño. Reviews highlighted the friendly atmosphere, good sound across the main stages and the typical Benicàssim rhythm of late nights and very late mornings.
